April 5-6   Otto M. Budig Family Foundation Kite Fest. Formerly, Airwaves Kite Fest, at the Voice of America Park just North of Cincinnati, Oh. Rain date is April 12-13.  Days/Time: Saturday, Family Night with night fly from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, Noon – 5:00 p.m. Location: Interstate 75 Exit 22, East on Tylersville Rd ¾ mile to Cox Rd, left on Cox Rd., to the entrance to Voice of America Park. May 2-3 11th Annual Col. Murray Memorial Kite Festival. At the
Sunset hill Farms County Park located near Indiana Dunes Recreational area. Night fly on the 6th and large fun fly on the 7th. The park is easily found between Valparaiso & Chesterton, In., four miles south of I-94, one mile south of I-80/90 Toll Road, four miles north of US 30, on US 6 and Meridian (Campbell Rd.) May 3  Ansel Toney and Past HKS Members Memorial Kite Festival. Location: Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie, In. Time is 10:00 a.m. until 04:00 p.m. This will be a one day fun fly with a kite building workshop for children of all ages. June 13-15  14th Anniversary Summer Heat Hot-Air Balloon Festival. Friday through Sunday at Morrow's Meadow in Yorktown, In. Saturday and Sunday fly time is approximately 10:00 a.m. until 04:00 or 05:00 p.m. Free admission each day for card holding HKS members. Show your HKS membership card at the entrance gate. Aug. 16  Kokomo Fun Fly & Cookout  Sat. 12:00pm - 4:00pm Cookout at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Glen Sheets near Kokomo. Come and bring a covered dish.  The HKS will provide the rest of the food.  We will fly kites at Center Road Church of Christ in Kokomo.  Address: 899 West 300 South.  From the intersection of Highway 26 and 31, go North on 31 to Center Road and turn West.  Center Road is the first cross road North of the intersection of 26 & 31.  Proceed West to the church at the corner of 100 West and 300 South.  Or, from Highway 31 South of Kokomo, go to State Road 26 and turn West on 26. Go one mile to first cross road, 100 West, turn North on 100 West. Go one mile to Church of Christ on the right side of the road.  This is always a relaxing and fun day of flying with our friends. Aug. 23  Fly To The Sky. Fun fly, kite building for children, car show.  No admission charge.  Location: 18906 East U.S. Highway 24. east of Fort Wayne, In., on Highway 24 East. This event is at the B.F. Goodrich plant on 24 East. Directions: Take 469 to the east side of Fort Wayne and exit on U.S.24 East.  Stay on 24 until you see the B.F. Goodrich plant on the South side of the road.  The kite event will be toward the east end of the plant.  Tell traffic patrol you are with the kite flyers and need to park with them. Time: 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Come out and enjoy a day of kite flying and looking at the classic cars. Contact HKS member Joe Stemen at 260-760-1383.

Aug. 30-31  Indiana Trick Clinic & Fun Fly. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until? Sunday, 10:00 a.m. until approximately 03:00 p.m. We will be flying at the far southwest corner of the property, not where we fly for the Ansel Toney.  Come and learn how to do tricks with your dual line kite.  This fly is for anyone who wants to fly any kind of kite.  There is room for everyone.  Overnight camping available.
