DESCRIPTION:  \n \nJoin the Coxhall Guild and the Hoosier Kitefliers Society for a kite festival and workshop. Whether you build a kite from scratch or bring your own\, every age from toddler to grandparent\, can share the joy of flying a kite! Colorful kites of all sizes and shapes flying high over the grounds of Coxhall Gardens will serve as a sure sign of spring. Working with members of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society\, guild volunteers will help guests build a simple sled kite.\nChildren must be accompanied by an adult. Kites are free while supplies last. We will also have concessions and vendor booths with items available for purchase. DESCRIPTION:We have received an invitation from White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis to participate in a kite flying community event that the park plans on Sunday\, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.\nThe park’s community outreach and events coordinator\, Cara Walsh\, wrote that the park would love to have HKS members attend.\nThe event takes place in an area of the park called\, “Celebration Plaza\,” which is circled in red on the map below. SUMMARY:National Museum of the United States Air Force Kite Week - Dayton\, OH
DESCRIPTION:The National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton\, Ohio plans a Kite Week March 27 to April 2. During that week\, the Museum will invite kite flyers to use its expansive front field. Designated flying areas will be clearly marked\, including a 600 ft by 600 ft. area reserved for large\, show kites. \nThe field will be open during regular museum hours\, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.\, each day of Kite Week. \nMembers of Cincinnati kite club PIGS Aloft plan to fly and have invited members of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society to join them. HKS members Dick and Terry Claycomb plan to be there from late afternoon March 28 through March 30. \nParking is in the main visitors’ lot or the Air Park.
